Default No luck

I have a 04 Dodge Ram 1500 with the exact same problem. My odometer comes on every blue moon along with the "lamp out" indicator and all my lights work properly.

I re flowed and added solder to the compact florescent display pins the pins sit between z9 and z10 chips and that solved the problem works fine now and didnt have to spend $1000.00 + tax

Default Another option for repair - reman/repair

jdserro - the picture you posted don't show a Z9 or Z10 reference on the PCB. Could you point those out in your photo and re-post? This seems to be the first post of a successful fix for this "odometer no longer lit up" issue.

I did get this fixed on my 2005 Ram2500 Cummins. For me, the solution was to send my cluster in to United Radio in East Syracuse, NY. They can repair the cluster (actually, they have repaired/reman'd units and their turnaround time is fast). As a bonus, all the backlight bulbs were replaced, too, so my dash is fully illuminated at night, now, too. As in this thread, the only issue I was having with my cluster was that the odometer was no longer backlit. All the gauges worked correctly.

OK, got it - thanks! I had tried touching up some of those pins before sending it in, but I didn't reflow the D-pak transistors.

thanks in advance

I know this is an old thread but we had this problem as well. Thanks to the above posters for their advice. Our problem ended up being a bad solder joint at the odometer heat sink? I think that is what it is called. The white ceramic rectangle soldered to board. There are two. One for odometer and one for shift display. The odometer would be visible one day and not visible the next. Hit a bump and sometimes it would come back on. All fixed now with new solder. Again, thanks for pointing us in the right direction. Cheers

I have a similar problem on my 06 Ram 1500. The odometer quit adding miles awhile ago. My question is if the soldier point is corroded and I clean and reflow soldier will the actual mileage show than? Thanks!
