Default Axle Swap?!

I've got an 03 1500 with a 6" lift on 35s and as many of you probably know this model of 1500's has the independent front CV axles. With the lift my pickup practically eats these axles so my question to everyone is what is the best thing to do in order to make this more reliable for 4x4ing/hunting as well as everyday driving machine?

I have seen some guys going with the straight axle conversion but for daily driving it might compromise comfort..its a lot stronger but not an easy install

It's been done but is very time consuming and EXPENSIVE.

The CVs used on these Rams are pretty stout by 1/2 ton truck standards and very rarely (if ever) break when kept at realistic (20*) angles and with tires not over 35".

I'd first look at the lift, as many cheaper lifts put the CVs at angles that are too steep. Better kits not only keep them below 20* but in many cases keep that at or very close to stock angles...

Yea I would definitely say it's a problem with the lift kit you have. Do you have any info on the brand of kit you're running? There are ALOT of guys of here running lifts but I haven't really read about guys going through axles like you're saying.

It's got a rough country lift on it, I was a dumb 16 year old when I bought a pre-lifted truck but the lifts seemed pretty legit from what I saw online. I haven't considered getting a different kit though, right now I'm just trying to find the best option.

Well even buying some of the most high end kits would probably be cheaper then an axle swap I would think
