Default Headlight Gremlin

I have a 04 Ram 2500 HD with 5.7L Hemi. The right side low beam quit working so I started checking all the usual suspects and could not find my gremlin! So I paid the stealership $100 and they told me “it’s your FCM” so I replaced the FCM and yes I was fixed! 6 days later my gremlin found me and the same issue was back. So I went back to the stealership again another $100 later the same 18yr old tech says “it’s your IPM” so I bought a new IPM installed it and now I have a right side low beam that does not function and now new to my gremlin the airbag light is on and stays on! Can someone please help me because if I return to the dealership again you will hear about it on the news!!

Thats crazy. Sounds like they just threw parts at it. The high beam works? Check the plug its self. Look for signs of discoloration.

Why did they charge you another $100 the 2nd time... I wouldn't pay them a dime over parts cost the 2nd time around....

Weim,

I'm sorry to hear about your concerns. Are there any updates on your gremlins? You may want to review with the dealer that has been diagnosing the vehicle to let them know that there are ongoing issues. If you are having problems ask to speak with the service manager, they should be able to assist in pin-pointing your problem.

If you have any questions PM me and I'd be happy to help.

Nope not going back there again! I'm so mad at them i'll regret going in there! The manager at the stealership is more rude than the service people. They don't care about the problem, what they have charged me, or that it is not even legal for me to drive it around with a headlight out! Lancaster Dodge will never ever get one more dollar of my money! Yesterday I found some disconnected wires hanging underneath the truck. I think they go to the airbag but, i'm not positive. Just more fun left by the stealership service monkeys for me to figure out fix!

I solved the headlight issue! The airbag light being on is really the only thing keeping me from driving the truck through the front of the dealership so I guess it's all good now!

Thanks Guys!

what did you do to solve the headlight issue? As other people may be looking for an answer to this sometime down the road.

I found another forum where someone was having a tail-light issue and their IPM was blowing out there FCM. I replaced my FCM before my IPM so I thought that may have happened to me! So I bought a 3rd FCM and it seems to be ok! I'm on my 4th day of it working! (knock on wood) It only took $1200 to fix a low beam out on a truck worth $7500! Gotta love Dodge and their network of Stealerships full of Jiffylube rejects! If it blows out again I'm going to light it on fire and roll it through the front of the Lancaster Dodge showroom!!
