Very first thing I did was put a rear sway bar in (QC did not come with from the factory). What a difference. Next step is bigger tires, then maybe a leeeeetle lowering...

Lonestar, where did you get your rear sway bar? How does it work for you?

At speed when I tow something heavy I feel like the rear end could be stiffer. Maybe this could help me. I was thinking about adding helper air bags.

I got it off of ebay, complete bolt in kit. Do a search under (mine is for a 2003 Ram 1500) your application. I can look to see if I still have the box. It works EXTREMELY well. I think it was about $130 or so.

Kenihemi,
Can you tell me about your Bilsteins?? Why did you choose them? Which ones are they? What differences did you notice on the street? I don't off-road, so that's n/a for me. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I just put the bilsteins on my Hemi also and it definitely helped the ride over the 40,000 mile stock shocks that I replaced. There is only one kind that they offer for the 3rd gen rams with the only difference bing whether its a 4x4 or not. Tokk all of about an hour or so to change them all out in the driveway.

The Bilsteins are wonderful. I put the longer ones one when I turned by torsion bars.

I thought the truck rode better with the torsion bars cranked and the stock shocks, then I added the Bilsteins.

I never thought a shock could really help the ride quality that much.

There is an ebay seller who has a lot of Bilstein auctions, if you contact him he will quote you on the bilsteins for any vehicle. $10 cheaper than Summit.

If your looking for better handling after the shocks are done invest in some good tires prefferably ones that are rated at least to 150mph. They give you much better handling than the stock tires (specialy at higher speeds), they'll give you a smoother quieter ride and last longer too. And most of the time they are cheaper than buying new shocks so Id go either way

no way, I paid $62 a shock for the Bilsteins, and so far I havent found a 20" tire from any manu in the right size for less than $122 each.
