Use vice grips on the drain plug. Put them on with a pair of channel locks and use a breaker bar, not a hammer to turn it. (Did the same on the 93 PGT)

Before that, buy a Fumoto valve or a magnetic plug to replace it. (I bought a G-Reddy plug for the PGT)

G-Reddy plugs have a longer bolt head, strong magnet, and a small hole drilled sideways through the head, so it it ever somehow strips again, you can put a bar in there and turn it. They are also black anodized I think, I know mine is a shiny black.

About that filter, use a oil filter wrench, if you don't have one, rent one. If it doesn't work, drill a hole in the side large enough for a screwdriver to go in and use that to free it up.

Before you do that go spend the money on a K&N oil filter. They are the best you can buy, and have the strongest casing for off road/high pressure use. Not to mention they have a 1" wrench-off nut on the bottom.

Also, look into a dual or single oil filter re-locator, they are easy to install and add oil pressure and an extra half a quart or so, and you can put them in an easier location. Here's the install pics on my 1993 Probe GT:

The next thing i do for an oil change will be a magnetic plug and the dual filter kit on my truck, my Probe already runs those.

Here's a good pick after I removed the factory engine and tranny mounts and plastic to install custom poly mounts and an extra tranny mount. It looks a lot cleaner and you can see how nice it looks.

I forgot to mention, depending where you put it, it also acts like an oil cooler.

Oil filter wrench doesn't fit in the tight area...but explain a little further on the screwdriver idea so I don't totally screw that up...

An oil filter wrench will fit in there. I fit it on my brother's 05 Cummins, and on my 05 Hemi 1500

Drill a hole, or by the looks of that steel, just bang a screw driver through each side and use it as a handle lol

By the way, that Mopar filter is just a repainted Purolator filter. That's who makes them for Mopar.

I punctured the filter when I twisted it with a wrench. Should I punch through with a screwdriver to use it as leverage?

Punch the hole with a screwdriver, and use the biggest screwdriver you can lay your hands on, they wind those on so frickin tight its ridiculous or go buy the "BIG" pair of channel locks

Done there, been that on more than one filter (never on one I installed). Can't say the same for the drain plug, though.
