Default Seat will not go up and down (Dodge Ram 2500 2005)

Just bought my Dodge Ram 2500 2005 today and everything is working great. when i went down to adjust the seat i noticed the seat will not go up or down. The other two buttons next to it work just fine. They let me angle the seat whichever way, and slide it forward and backwards. However when i press the one that makes it go up and down, i just hear the motor going and nothing moves. The seat just vibrates. Any suggestions?

Common issue. If you have the same power seat I do, which I'm sure you do, it has 3 adjustments and 3 "buttons" which means it has 3 motors. It's common for the plastic gears to get stripped on one or more and cause one of the functions not to work. On mine, the front up/down worked, the middle back and forth worked, but the rear up/down stopped working. So, really all 3 have some sort of up down adjustment. But the middle up down fires the forward and rear up down at the same time. Since my rear was broken, only the front of the seat would go up or down. The rear just made the noise but nothing happened. If you can determine which one of yours is broken, there are ways to fix just that one (a search here will get you tons of info). Or, you'll have to do what I did and buy an entire new seat track and replace it - gonna run you at least 400 bucks. I still have my old seat track and 2 of the 3 adjustments still work in it. If you would be interested in it to use to fix yours, let me know. I need it out of the way.

I know it’s a long shot but I saw you had a seat track and motor gears at one point figured it worth asking about to attempt fixing my driver seat issue as well, much appreciated thank you for your time
