Need help deciding on new exhaust
I just bought a 2007 ram 1500 big horn hemi and am looking to put a dual exhaust on it the problem is I don't know what brand or kind I need. I would like a system that sounds deep and powerful but not obnoxiously loud or like a tin can is connected to it, and one that could help it preform better.

I've got a Flowmaster 40 series single in/dual out and personally i love it. Its not too loud and it has little to no drone.
But what dodge dude94 says about it not flowing much better than stock is true. i don't use my truck as a performance vehicle, so im not looking for amazing output. about it being obnoxiously loud, i have to disagree. ive had mine for about 3 months now and i still love hearing that rumble. i do know that they tend to get deeper the longer you have them, so it all depends on personal preference.
heres a before and after video of my exhaust.

i got a flowmaster super 40 on my truck. Not a dual but it does sound really nice. More on the loud side but after a month I wouldnt mine loud either. I would like to have someone else drive it so I can hear what others hear haha.
Magnaflow flows a lot better and somtimes I wish I had gotten their brand. But i really love the sound of flowmaster and later this summer I am going to be doing true duals and probly with 2 flowmaster super 40's again. I think doing true duals will allow me to have flowmasters on the with plenty of flow and awesome sound.
it does drone pretty good in my truck but i enjoy it for some reason. Everyone else hates it. I think it also has to do with where the location of the muffler is. If your doing true duals I think it may help with the drone also not sure of that either.
just get something stainless so it will last you. Also it wouldnt hurt to get quotes from shops to see how much they can do a custom exhaust for ya. Just choose the muffler you want and have them bend and weld the pipes for you

I would definitely recommend a Cherry Bomb Vortex system. I know a few others on here have the Vortex. I remember reading a great post that I believe Hammer put together that was really helpful when it comes to flow of the mufflers. I don't have the direct link but I saved the information on a text document.

it matters more what the rest of the exhaust is more so than the diameter of the pipes. Do you mean a catback system? If so, you might consider finding a muffler that you like the sound of, order the magnaflow y pipe and your chosen muffler, then have a shop bend the tubes for you. It will be a lot cheaper that way. You can put whatever tips you want on there, it won't make that much difference. You can find lots of videos of exhausts in the faq section.
