I had a rebuilt engine put in my 2005 ram 1500. They said it was rebuilt by Chrysler. Does Chrysler even do that?

 

The dealerships will rebuild an engine thats in a vehicle, but in my time with them they did not(and according to a friend that is still there, still do not) rebuild salvage engines to be sold.

There may be some facility somewhere that does, but to my knowledge dealer service depts do not.

 

chrysler does have crate motors. but dont know the details. i checked JEGS it looks like most are high performance. and NOT cheap.
