Default Truck "Dings" going over bumps?

This one just started the other day when I went over a bumo slightly too hard, and I mean just slightly.

When I start my truck now I get the usual chimes, but after they stop I get one more "Ding".

Also when I hit a bump too "hard"?? it dings once also.

Anyone know what this is?

I think it's just randomly dinging now. I'll just be driving down the road, then it'll ding 4 times, pause slightly, ding 3 times, then stop. but it changes, and isn't always the same number of chimes.

Bring it to the dealer... usually those chimes indicate the completion of the "self test" that the PCM will perform on the safety systems.

I'm not sure where else to start on that one...

No other indicators such as the lamp out? Seems weird, I automatically associate the dings with a lamp out condition...lol. Might be worth a try to just go ahead and replace your tail and back up bulbs as well as 3rd brake light just to see. Sounds also like it could be a bad ground somewhere.

It's very possible that he has a short circuit somewhere too, check all those "custom" projects you completed.... might be something there...

AHHHHHH you didn't say that before!

Check your Ebrake Switch... if that broke or is shorted it will make the truck think that the EBrake is on....

Also check your speed/abs sensors and wiring to those sensors.

I'd say it's a light on its way out or a loose connection. Just keep an eye on your lights, or just replace the common brake or signal rear lights, they seem to go out more often, in fact I think they are the only ones I've changed.

I had the exact same thing happen to me years ago. It turned out that there is a battery heat sensor underneath the battery. Its part of the tray. Pull that out and clean it off real good that or replace it. I just cleaned mine though and it went away never had a problem since.
