Angry HELP!! Rear ID?

I have a 2005 Ram 1500 2wd. I need to replace the rear in the truck, however I do not know the size or where to get it from. I have looked in the glove box and there is no sticker. I went under the vehicle to look for a tag, and much to my surprise there appears to a partial label on the passenger side of the axle. Thanks to road salt the sticker is all but 25% gone and not legible. Is there anywhere other than those locations that would tell me the size of my rear differential?

Welcome to DF.

What engine do you have in that Ram? If its the HEMI, you most likely have the Chrysler Corporate 9.25 axle. Not sure if the smaller engines came with that axle.

I will move you to the correct section to get a better answer. For future reference:

Regardless of engine, a 3rd gen 1500 has the corporate 9.25 axle (basic design been around since about '72). What you need to figure out is what gears it has.

Yep, it's gonna either be 3.92 or most likely 3.55 but of course being a 4x2 you can put whatever ring and pinion ratio you want in it now. But for sure it's a Chrysler Corporate (AAM) 9.25" rear end...

4.88's on a 2 wheeler equals the biggest T/A Radials (old school) he can find!!!!!

But they do make a lot of smoke!!

Now where did I lay that line-lock at
