Clutch Noise on 02 V6
Forum members,
I am in a bit of a situation, after spending 620$ on a rear end bearing failure and wheel bearing, i have a odd clutch noise (developed on driving up the smokey mountains).
When the truck is cold i have a noise when accelerating in 1 and 2nd gear (not so much 3rd) around 2,300 rpm to 3k. If i push the clutch in a CM not even a Inch the noise goes away. Also if the truck and components are warmed up, its gone.
Clutch feel might seem a bit spongy but could be the hydrolic system?
if anyone has a clue, let me know.

You didnt describe the sound its making very much...
Spongy clutch could be master/slave failing, or you need to bleed the system. If its not slipping and engages ok you probably dont need a new clutch disc.
I agree with ^ if its a grinding or cement truck noise could be your throwout bearing failing. Not sure if dodge uses a solid pilot bushing, but if over time that wears out and causes slight play in the input shaft this will, over time, put additional stress on the throwout bearing which can make it noisy.
Thing is, when youre in gear, your throwout bearing isnt in use...sooooo
