Default Shaking before shut off at stops

So this is what I got. My 2006 dodge mega cab shuts off at stops. It only really happens after going past 35mph. Before it shuts off sometimes it shakes or feels like while I'm braking that it wants to keep on going. Sometime it just dies. This is only while in gear if I throw it in N it is fine and rpm stay steady and won't jump around. I have thought of many things bad tranny, low fluid, dirty throttle body which I cleaned and got no white smoke. I also did sea foam treatment. Please help I'm growing frustrated.

I know this is a strange question but if you turn on the air conditioning system does it still do it? The reason I ask is it sounds like your idle is very low and right on the verge of dying. So when you put it into neutral it stays just above the threshold. When the A/C system is operating the idle is slightly raised to compensate for the increased load of the compressor. This won't really solve anything on its own but should be useful information. Also, its easier than shifting to neutral at every stop in the meantime.

No it doesn't really make a difference. What does make a difference is if I stop and turn it off and restart and stay below 35mph then it usually stays on

Sounds like an IAC issue to me.

If you even have one. Hemi?

I thought the 2006 hemi didn't have the IAC or its built into the throttle body

I have no idea. lol I'm just throwing out what it sounds like to me: low idle problem caused by a slow reacting IAC.

My 06 Sport was doing the same thing. Nearly everytime I would come to a stop it would stall or RPMS would drop and nearly stall.
Mine actually got to the point where when I would put it into gear it would stall unless I feathered the gas.

I ended up taking it to the shop and found that the torque converter was shot.

Another thought if you have recently serviced the transmission (changed the filters) the "flat" filter may not be seated properly (There is a small o ring where the filter pushes into the valve body that may not be seated)...this has been known to cause some strange tranny issues.

I actually ended up having a shop rebuild the tranny and replace the toruqe converter so I couldnt tell you how much just the converter was.
Ended up paying close to $2200 to have the rebuild done.

Best way I know to describe what mine was doing is driving a manual transmission without using the clutch. When coming to a stop it would jerk (as if it wanted to keep going) then shudder and stall.
If I put it in neutral before coming to a stop it would be fine.
