I have a 2004 5.7. Recently I was driving with my cruise control on. It shut off completely and my engine started to miss. It doesn't do it all of the time, it comes in waves. After it has turned itself I cannot turn it back on. Upon further investigation I realized I can only turn it on while the truck is in park or stopped completely in drive. Possibly. A sensor? Not sure where to start. Any help would be great.

 

Most likely its your front left wheel hub that is bad. The cruise control runs off of that hub. Those are typical signs the cruise control would show if hub was bad..

Two seperate issues. As states LF hub assy will fix the cruise. Could be a simple tune up needed to fix the miss. Are you getting any codes for the miss?
