Default Fuel Tank Vent Quick Connectors??

Can anyone please explain exactly how to undo the fuel filler neck vent line fitting, and the fuel tank vent fitting. I ended up breaking the fuel line retaining clip and our local dealer wants $34.95 plus shipping to replace it Want to make sure I don't break anything else trying to change the fuel pump as getting parts where I live is mail order only. Airtex fuel pump from Napa was $373.00, went back this morning and ordered a Delphi from mail order. You don't even want to know what the OEM price is here

Thanks in advance for the help!

First one, Fuel Filler Neck Vent Line

Second one, Emissions line at fuel tank

Idk about the second pic but on the first, they make fuel disconnect tools and sell them at local auto part stores. You need a 3/8. It also fits the fuel rail disconnect on the intake and disconnects for the trans lines that go into the cooler

Hey there, just wondering if you had any luck with this. I replaced my tank and all the clips broke when i removed the tank... no big deal right... just buy new ones... dealer now says he can order them!!! lol. gotta love them. From my understanding they are not reusable and have to be replaced everytime you remove them. Any thoughts would be great.
thx

When I did mine, I just ended up spraying them down with penetrating oil and working them loose with a tool to get them to come apart. the one connector I broke the dealer said was $35.00 and I ordered aftermarket ones for $5.00 and got 4 of them. They are part of the line so the ones I did not break were reused and I have had no leaks.

I had the same one break (fuel pump out to the line). The "housing" around the fitting is fine, just the retaining clip broke. I am going to try Dorman 800-023. They look exactly like what I am looking for even though they only list Ford/GM. I actually used a small zip tie through where the clip should be and zipped it tight. Worked great to get the truck moving again, just don't trust a zip tie in the elements.

Just a follow up. The Dorman 800-023 worked perfectly. I had to modify the included black clip a little bit by sanding down the plastic "thumb nail" on the clip until it was flush with the rest of the clip. After I did this it fit in the housing perfectly and made a nice SNAP when attached to the fuel pump. This will work for anyone else looking for a replacement clip, as long as the housing is okay. This is for 2006 Ram feed line from the pump. I am sure they used different vendors for their lines so your results may vary. I'm back up and running, no leaks, and confident of no issues down the road. Good luck!

If you just push down on the top/white portion of the clip you should be able to pull out the line.
