I recently broke the valve stem on my 06 Ram 1500, 4.7. I needed tires so when I was at the tire shop they told me I had TPMS on the vehicle. Some say they weren't introduced until later but trust me theres a TPMS light on the dash . The valve that broke is the rear passenger side, no light is on but its lower than the rest of the tires for air because I can't pump a broken valve. The big thing here however is..I bought it from a Garage and it has 2010-2012 Rims on it......
Anyway does anyone know if these are difficult to replace myself or does it come apart etc;......does this affect the type of part (TPMS) I need or not..? The local store wants $199 to fix it. Do these reset themselves also or do I have to do it with a machine...? What should I do.
Thanks in advance

3 out of 4 of mine broke on my 08 1500. I took them all out added rubber stems. and turned off the tpms with SC. The aluminum bodies are garbage, I had a frozen cap on the stem with a low tire. tried to take it off, and the whole thing snapped off. Then the other 2 followed by spring. so I replaced them all.
don't spend the money on them IMO. spend twice that amount and get a programmer, to turn them off, and get the gains from the chip as well.
