Default went to the track last night

Took the ram to the drag strip last night. Best run was a 15.035@90 mph. Not too shabby for an 03 with 107k miles. Only real mods are a diablo tuner k&n fipk and a flowmaster 40. Could only run the 91 octane tune due to having 1/3 a tank of 87 octane before I filled up with 93. Also removed the tailgate and spare tire for weight. Kills include a 70 c-10 350 (all show no go) 2010 ram 4x4 hemi, 89 mustang 5.0, Silverado 5.3, ram CTD, new f-150 v8 and some ricer turd. Lost in the final round of the truck/van class because I broke out by .005 second. I'm pretty confident I would have been in the 14.90s had I been able to run the 93 octane tune. Also cut a perfect .000 reaction time on 1 run. Didn't have much trouble hooking up surprisingly. Spun the tires on 1 run and ran a 15.35. Overall I'm pretty happy with it. Haven't posted on here in forever... just thought I'd share. Truck is a 03 RCSB HEMI 2wd with 3.55's and stock LSD with 17" wheels.

No way a 14.09 was a stock truck my man. That's a full second faster than mine. I looked around on the interwebs also for 1/4 times also and places like motor trend were testing stock rams in the mid 15 sec range. These were rcsb 2wd hemis which is going to be your best power to weight ratio. On another ram forum in a post from 2003 someone had the same exact truck I have bone stock and took it to the track when he first bought it. He claimed it was in the 14.90 range which I think is a stretch. Maybe if it was in 40 degree weather at a track well below sea level with a tail wind lol. Weather is a huge factor. My truck picked up about 3 tenths as the night went on. Weather changed from about 79 degrees to 55 by the timeiI made my last run (which was the fastest)

Even if he had a stock 3.92 rear that's a few tenths at best. If I had 3.92s I'm sure the best I could have done was a 14.80

You need 4.10's and a Detroit Locker.

If I ever did gears I'd go all in and get 4.56's. Go big or go home. What I really need.... is a 392 hemi lol

I've decided to go again next week and think ahead this time so I can run the 93 octane tune. I suppose I could have mixed a few gallons of race fuel in the tank but I didn't think of that till after I filled the tank up. I just want to see if I can hit 14.90. If I can do that I'll be happy.

If you had 3.92 gears, you might have had traction problems and actually gone slower. My 06 rcsb with hemi and 3.92's likes to spin a lot

Sweet, sounds like your truck can compete with the f150 ecoboost. Im not a ford fan but i do like those motors.

Just a ques but what does grounding your TB do?
