Its not often as the trailer sits on job sites quite a bit. In a year or so I might upgrade to a Hemi.

Plus remember I do have unlimited power train warranty. I lost a motor right at 100k. They replaced the entire motor, the water pump, the alternator (due to mechanic breaking it taking it off) and upgraded my radiator to one from a Hemi and cost me about $500.00 total out the door. If I see them run unlimited power train again then I will jump on a Hemi at that time.

bags will add weight b/c you'll need to add a compressor and small tank.

I'd go with the helper springs.

I would also have the dealer replace your gears so you can keep your powertrain warranty.... they may void it if you go with 4.10's (I've seen some dealers do that b/c the 4.10's do not show up as compatible part numbers in their system) so you might get stuck with 3.92's...

If you are 4x2 it will be much cheaper than if your truck is 4x4.

You do not have to run a compressor. You can just fill them manualy. Look at the firestone ride rite bags.

I'd trade in for a 3rd gen CTD. Better gas mileage towing and not.

Why not? They're good up to 5,000lbs. Much more than your axle or tires will handle. I installed mine with the valves mounted either side of the rear license plate. I already had a small air compressor (bout the size of a cereal bowl($10 BIG LOTS Special)) that plugs into a cigarette lighter. Cord wasn't long enough so I bought a spare lighter socket and wired it to a 7 pin trailer plug. Now I just plug my compressor into my trailer socket whenever I need to add air. Rides like a dream with a ton of pellets in the back.
