Default Pro comp shocks.

Anyone have these on a 4x4 torsion bar suspension setup??
Can anyone rate these shocks for me?

I had the ES3000s on my lifted Grand Cherokee. They are your basic Tenneco made, re-branded (basically with a sticker), shock absorber. Exact same as if you bought Skyjacker, Rough Country or any other white, generic, Tenneco made shock.

Decent shock, especially for the money. I paid like $36 each on a buy three, get one free deal from 4 Wheel Parts when I got them for the GC which netted out to like $27 a shock.

Don't expect Bilstein or Rancho 9000/7000 ride quality out of them, but I had no complaints...

^Based on what Hammer is saying my .02 is if youre gonna go through this effort dont waste your time with rebranded anything shock wise.

I first replaced my fronts with Monroe Reflex, what absolute garbage. Slight improvement in control but real damper tuning was nonexistent. Once I switched to Bilstein 4100s (the light duty 2wd option), it was seriously night and day difference. IMO proper damping doesnt make the ride harsh, it controls the ride just so which translates into a much more pleasant (and comfortable) driving experience.

Dont cheap out on dampers, do it once, do it right.

Oh and sorry, no experience with Pro Comp specifically.

I have blisteins 4600 all round at he moment but, the front shocks even though everyone inc blistein said they should fit my 2 inch torsion bar level. They are just too short altogether. The bottom bushes are pulling out of the shock on the lower control arm.
The pro comps are good and specify an extra 2 inch travel.
So I will be good.
The guy at 4 wheel parts showed me that the Rancho rs9000 will not fit my truck according to the book as well.
Don't forget they are a lot more expensive than the pro comps and I did want them. So it goes against a "salesmans" natural instinct to steer me to something cheaper.
I got nowhere and I mean nowhere with either bilstein Europe where I live or USA tech support.
So my experience with bilstein is, I would never ever buy from them again or recommend them to anyone!!

the fact that companies can stay in business with such s-h-i-t-e customer service is astounding in this day and age.

Bilsteins ride great but I gotta agree Al, their customer support sucks *****. Had one to blow out with 2000 miles on it on my 2nd Gen Ram and they wouldn't do a thing for me on it.

The guy is right on the RS9000s, I have them on my Ram. They are for 4" - 6" of lift and there is nothing between them and stock height or at least wasn't when I got them.

Cheers Hammer for the info on the Rancho RS 9000.
Makes me feel a lot better about the 4 wheel parts guy with the service and advice he's given me.

I also have Bilstein's, and have no issues with them. A big difference over the stock ones.
