Oil pressure gage drop
Gotta a concern. 1st day of driving my new truck ( 2008 Bighorn 4dr 5.7L ) as i was trying it out, gas pedal, i would run it up to 75 or 80 and then leave off the gas and when it would hit about 40MPH ding ding ding check gages light flashing and oil pressure gage was pinned on low. Did this a couple times and finally the little engine picture came on and stayed on. Took truck back to dealer and they are gonna replace 2 sensors. oil pressure for the gage and one for check engine. My question is is this a fix or is there a chance something is causing these to go bad? Obviously the oil pressure wasnt actually low cause there was no noise in engine. Full of clean oil too. But the future worries me?? The truck has 43,000 miles on it... Is there something else to look at that might have caused this. Only had truck a week now and not too late to take back.
Not uncommon to see guys with "low oil pressure" finding the oil pressure sensor by the oil filter to be bad. But first check for a solid electrical connection. If that's fine, then replace the sensor. Funny that doest resolve it, use a mechanical gauge to verify pressure and troubleshoot accordingly

Congratulations on your new Ram!
