I have an 04 Cummins HO 305HP. Bought a wreck in late 05. Tried to put it in a 98 and scrapped that project due to the incompatability issues.

My queston is... What year models of ram trucks will my 04 Cummins fit? I know they put the 5.9 in years 03-07, but out of those years what will my 04 fit.

Looking for a truck with high mileage or a blown engine to put my engine in as it only has 35000mi on it.

 

You can run any engine from 89-13, they'll all fit and they'll all run.

As far as keeping it Common Rail, all engines from 03-13 are a direct swap. I suggest looking for a 6.7, great swap.
