Default 2004 1500 Ram

Thank for the help in advance. Provided the truck has been taken care of...Whats the expected top miles I can expect out of a 2004 1500 Ram truck? I am looking for a "toy" (as well as something drive in the winter) but do not want dealers or anyone to take advantage of me either...so thanks for the help on this. Any other things I need to watch out for when looking at this try of truck would be helpful too. thanks again

Some engines last 30k and some last 300k. No way to give you an idea what you might get.

Yes too many variables to accurately answer this. Try a search of the forum though, as I have seen this question asked before by others looking to buy a used Ram. This should give you a good general idea of what to expect.

Here is a link to one: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...ge-survey.html

Thanks guys. I am a single mom looking to have a toy back. Nice to know someone is honest out there (thanks for not taking that the wrong way)!

IDK what you're pocketbook looks like nor what your needs are, but everyone here will be honest in saying their truck isn't the most fuel economic choice either.

If you want a toy and not a daily, buy one if you can support the hobby.

They sure are purdy as well.

Its for a toy but as someone said they sure are purdy so not sure I could NOT drive it daily! LOL. I may be a single mom but hey I still like my toys. Farm girl born and raised...there no toys unless they kick a$$ on and off road.

As for the price of driving a truck....ya I know lost my F250 in the divorce. Not real happy about that. But hey, I get to get something I want. My goal at some point is to gut it and do truck pulls. So I'm more worried about the body at this point, engine is going to have to go anyways. ONE STEP AT A TIME

Honestly if your looking for a real toy and something to build off of I would start with a 2500 or a 3500, doesn't have to be a diesel. Having a solid front axle and little stiffer frame may be better int the long run.

Dirtydodge! Thank you. This is the information I am looking for. (however I didnt' say I was looking for a toy to turn into a pulling truck.) I am on my own on doing this so it will be a slow go at it but I will get it right! Thanks so much dirtydodge! If you can think of anything else please let me know. I am on here to learn before I start to buy.
What do you guy think of the everyday drivers that pull? Im not so sure I would be gutsy to have a daily driver for a pulling truck..but diesels are the best the shows by far.
Man I need to find a group to do this will.
