Default 2003 dodge ram 3.7 miss fire issue

I recently purchased a 2003 dodge ram 1500 3.7 after my 91 Dakota finally died (890,xxx miles) and the ram has been good to me except for it's throwing a p0306 code (cylinder 6 misfire) I did a full tune up NGK plugs and all 6 new coil packs and the code went away. 175 miles later the engine light is back on with the same code, it runs fine it doesn't act like it's missing what's going in with it?

I get those misfire codes from time to time and I've done everything there is to correct it. It drives fine so I ignore it now. Sorry that does help but my point it is, it won't hurt anything. Just more bothersome it's there

I guess I'll just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't start running bad, hauled. 3200lbs of gravel with it today and it ran fine I appreciate it.

Could be a cat going or a 02 sensor

I'll admit I don't know a whole lot about these modern fuel injected motors but it seems the oxygen sensors and the cat would have there own code to throw not the Cyl 6 misfire code. I filled the truck up with super unleaded this morning (at 3.95 a gallon ouch) and I'm hoping that will help

Is the truck a manual like mine? I had the same misfire code on an off for 6months and during a routine oil change my mechanic hooked it up and tracked the code all the way back to where the misfire idle was 500 so somebody almost stalled it. He cleared the code and no issues since.. Just a thought for yea

I wish mine was standard. As of now my engine light is off, 600 mile round trip this weekend I'll see if it kicks on again. I unhooked the battery overnight and put 150 miles on it and it's not back on yet. Hopefully it was just a glitch in this sophisticated system.
