Default intake mod?

I was thinking about extending a hose from my stock air cleaner box down to the cutout
in the bumper where the fog light or in my case a vent would usually go also K&N filter. Will this make a differance in air flow or performance.

To answer your question, probably not enough to tell at typical highway speeds.

However, if you do the mod, I'd recommend two things: 1) a stainless steel screen (available from McMaster-Carr on-line) at the light opening to keep out low-flying trash and, 2) depending on routing and configuration, a small drain hole in the hose at an appropriate low place.

All the best.
