Default Noise when braking

My 2006 Dodge 2500 Mega Cab 5.9 has just developed a "thud" noise while braking. When braking and I get to about 20mph there is a thud noise I can hear but not sure where it is coming from. If I do not brake and coast to a stop I cannot hear the noise. It also does not happen everytime I brake only every two or three times. My truck just turned 90,000 miles as well.

Any ideas what is causing this?

Have you had brakes done? Loose caliper. Pad moving around. Check suspension components too. Shocks, balljoints swaybar links ect....

I've had thunks on other vehicles too. Definitely give everything a look over like p38251 said.

it could be a loose caliper like someone said. could also be worn pads. also check the rotors. but prety much anything that would move forward when under braking.

I am noticing that the clunk sound happens when braking right around 19 miles per hour and only does it when I get above 30 miles per hour before braking.

Have you checked things underneath? See if there's any play in suspension bushings or anything wrong with the brakes?

If it does it over 30mph it's got me thinking its suspension related...
