I have an Extang myself and plan on getting a Peragon as soon as I can score the spare cash. In the meantime before you buy your new one though, you should call Extang. They are really great about honoring warranty. The Velcro strips on mine gave way and they sent me everything brand new except the aluminium rails. If you give them a call, I bet they'll send you a new top. I'm getting a Peragon because of its ease of use and I have rails on my bed and I don't like the flapping that my vinyl one has, but I'm very satisfied with Extang's warranty. Give it a shot...
