Default Oil change indicator

I have a 08 2500 Hemi and the oil change indicator seems to have quit working!
It's been roughly 10000 kms since last oil change and still no warning indicator! It's kind of a good feature for people who don't write down the mileage after every change and like to keep on schedule. I'm going ahead and changing the oil. Just wondering if there is someway it has been disabled or is it going to throw the schedule off when it pops up between oil changes? Thanks!

08Kevin,

The oil change indicator message will not monitor the time since the last oil change. The oil should be changed if it has been 6 months or 10,000km (whichever comes first) since your last oil change even if the oil change indicator is NOT illuminated.

Your dealer will reset the oil change indicator message after completing the scheduled oil change. If this scheduled oil change is performed by someone other then your dealer the message can be reset by:

1. Turning the ignition switch to the ON position (Do not start the engine).
2. Fully depressing the accelerator pedal slowly 3 times within 10 seconds.
3. Turning the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.

Please note that if the indicator message illuminates when you start the vehicle, the oil change indicator system did not reset and if necessary repeat this procedure.

This and more information can be found in the Owner's Manual starting on page 196.

let me know if you have any other questions.
