Steering shaft?
The service manual states the following re: the rack and pinion: "A rack and pinion steering gear is made up of two main components, the pinon shaft and the rack. The gear cannot be adjusted or internally serviced. If a malfunction or a fluid leak occurs, the gear must be replaced as an assembly."
So at least Dodge doesn't endorse any kind of adjustment. As for brands, check out rockauto.com. There are not many shown and they are remans. I have had luck with Cardone before. http://www.cardone.com/Products/Prod...d=22382&p=rock
For the shaft, looks like a $250 part - search "BORGESON 951".

You are right! The 2500's have a reticulating ball (I think thats right). The steering gear can be adjusted, but I suggest you follow the FSM on adjustment. As far as a steering shaft, I haven't a clue-----sorry
