newbie so sorry in advance. i just bought a new 05 ram quad cab hemi. i brought it to the 1/8 mile track and posted consistant times of around 10sec flat w/ reaction times around .550 completely stock. No other trucks other than a 99 ford lightning at the track so that was all i raced. I lost consistantly by around 1.5sec. I was just wondering if there are enough performance accessories for my truck to be able to keep up with this monster (excluding supercharger and nos). i just bought a cat back exhaust(flowmaster 50 series) and cai(aem). gonna bring it back to the track and see what kind of improvement or anything i will see. Any imput or advice would be great.

 

1.5 sec in an 1/8 mile race is a lot. Without adding a turbo, supercharger, or nos, I dont think you will be able to run with him. But exhaust, intake, tuner, and a few others will help. Did you get a 1/4 mile time?

 

No. Too much weight, too little power.

Only with nitrous, turbo- or supercharging do you have a chance. Sorry.

 

I did not get a 1/4 mile time, but I'm going to another track that has the whole 1/4 mile. Ill post my times as soon as i get them. probably next week. thanx for the info. i guess i better start saving some money for a supercharger or a turbo.

 

what company makes superchargers or turbos for my 05 hemi??? And what are the prices for these bad boys. any good web sites out there.

 

The long and the short of it is....NO. Then again compare a N/A engine to a N/A engine and a boosted engine to a boosted engine and the Dodge wins hands down, everytime.

 

you would need extensive mods w/o having forced induction or nos, im not syaing it isnt possible, but itd take ALOT

 

www.gsmotorsports.com is an excellent company to deal with. i have been talking to them the last couple of months and they have been very helpful, but then again, i'm a fan of superchargers for v-8's, leave the turbos to diesels and lil 4 bangers.......but just my opinion

I just put in a new cat-back system and a cai. Brought it to the track to see if there was any improvement in my times. The first truck I run into was the same ford lightning that kicked my *** the first time I brought my truck to the track. This time the bastard was extreamly disrespectful. I was thinking to myself here we go again im gonna look like a fool again losing to this guy. Overall the match was just not fair. As expected I lost badly. What pissed me off was that he started mocking me, revving and talking smack. What he did'nt know was that my buddy just picked up the SRT-10 and was at the track watching the races. He did'nt want to run his truck because it was not brocken in yet. After my run he said "f*** it!! lets do this". We paid the registration fee and went looking for this punk. We rolled up on him and revved the crap out my boys truck. The little punk looked at us and said "bring it". They lined up and it was a pretty dam good race. Two monsters just going at it. The lightning got the jump(better driving skills) remember my boy just got his truck so he's not to sharp yet. towards the middle of the track the lightning had about a half a truck lead on my friend, but that was it my boys SRT just realed him in and spit him out (not that bad, just a little bias[:'(]). Overall a great race because we won and brought that lightning back to reality.
