Default aluminum driveshaft info

I have a 2003 ram 2500 QC with hemi automatic. The rear u joints are going bad and I have heard about replacing driveshaft with 1 piece aluminum. Wondering where I would be able to find one of these and what the price would be if anyone has done it. Any info on this would be helpful. Thanks

I would contact a driveline shop to get an idea of the cost. The 2500's and 3500's are set up from the factory with steel for the strength. Many of the 1500's did or still do come with beercan thin aluminum drivelines. Chances are, the aluminum will be considerably more expensive than the steel, if thats a concern, due to it being custom built and welded.
Keep us posted on what you find out.

Custom aluminum shaft will be strong enough but will run you upwards of $700. I have one in front of my Dana 60 from a shop in TX because they were able to build and balance it correctly for high speed.
