Post Battery Issue

Hey Guys,

Need an opinion on this. I recently replaced my Battery as the old one drained itself to the point it wouldn't charge after sitting for 2 days. I replaced it, and it still drains itself but now after like an hour. Any suggestions on cause? The terminals aren't too corroded, there's a little but nothing crazy, I've seen cars/trucks run on worse terminals with no problems.
Thanks!
P.S Its an 02 v6 ram.

Something is draining the battery, it isn't draining itself. Disconnect the positive connector and put a meter in line, set on DC amps. The current draw should be in the .25A range. If it's more, start pulling fuses.

Yeah also if it's draining a full battery in under an hour that may damage the voltmeter by putting it inline. Use the fused link!

At most, it'll pop the fuse (done there, been that).

Most are only rated for 10a on the unfused link.

Mine aren't that much. 3A max, but that should be enough (just don't turn the lights on or try to start it ).

Agreed, killing a full and new battery in an hour means you got something SERIOUSLY wrong somewhere. I'm hoping it's not as bad as you're really saying
