No way to both of the above. The metal is very thick and it's on the seam which makes it even tougher. I don't know a single painter that will get his gun wet for less than $150 and that's just for single stage, not clear, not dent removal...

Or at least the spot blended with color, then the whole side clearcoated. With the body work, Paint, and wetsand/buff, I'd bet at least double that. I would go with the ding removal guys. I've had work done to my old truck when an icicle fell on my hood. You could barely tell it ever happened. And that was a HOOD!! Where yours is at you would never notice. The good places will even touch up the scratches. But still plan on spending a couple hundred.
I agree. Whole entire bedside paint.

OP, do not use acetone. Rubbing compound and throw some wax over it and be done. It's alot of money to repair. I would estimate $600-$700 and you'll have filler back there afterwards. Dent companies do not do pintless dent removal for something that size. They need to surface weld on stiks to properly remove it!

Next time, have someone spot you or get out a few times if your cranking your trailer hard!
Whats even worse, is that its on the driverside where you only had to step out..doh. But dont worry, I did the same to mine when it was 2 weeks old except I got lucky and only put a very small ding at the crease line. Any lower and it would have dented it.

Rubbing compound and wax...sounds easy. Any particular brands or compounds?

I was actually backing up into my normal spot behind my house, and my FIL parked his Honda in the back, just close enough that I had to work it between a high standing stump and his car. Well, I was backing, had the wheel cut, and didn't quite cut it hard enough back...yeah, suckage.

You may want to try Meguiars Scratch X tube. It has some grit to it and works pretty well with hand use. Advance Auto sells it. Works pretty good and you'll have Tons left over to use as you need elsewhere.

If your able to clean the coloring off, you won't be able to see the dent unless your looking for it. It wont stand out in other words.

My truck is actually missing paint, so could use the Meguiars compound, paint it with chrysler paint, then wax it over?
