Default Blower motor bearings keep going out

A while back my blower motor under the glove box in my 06 ram quit on me. So I replaced it with an oem motor and it also quit. So I replaced it with a knock off aftermarket one and it quit. Is this just bad luck or what am I doing wrong?? Same thing every time the bearings wear and it gets noisy. They aren't serviceable at all its sealed. They last about a year..

Sounds to me you may just be having some bad luck. I have heard of them going out, but usually replace it and they are fine for a long time. I don't believe there is any sort of trick or alignment on them to ensure they are installed correctly.

Are you seeing any abnormal rust on the motor shaft or anywhere else on or in it? May be some water dripping down into it through the recirculation duct.

Your blower resistor could be a culprit as well. Electronics are funny things and still work when they have problems.

The blower resistor won't make the bearings fail. I wonder if the housing is getting torqued in its mount.
