Default headlights won't turn off, daytime running lamps not working

i have a 2006 ram 1500 4x4, 5.7 hemi...awesome truck, bought it new, no problems till now....headlights stay on even after key is removed. headlights on chime sounds when driver's door opened. passenger tailight not working. passenger front marker light not working. high/low beams do work but not daytime running lights. tried replacing headlight control switch, nothing changed. fog lights turn on/off. i checked fuses, all good. not sure what to do now.

have you tried to reset the computer. remove battery cable for 5 minutes.

headlights are controlled by a timer/computer.

Sounds like your TIPM is fried. Very common on 2006's.

I just had mine replaced. Best to go to a dealer. You'll have a warranty, and they need to program it anyway. I shopped around and the best I could do was $760. That was the best out of 6 dealers.

That's a great price, Before you purchase it, you should probably have a dealer confirm that's the problem!! And they will still need to program it.

BTW, that is $760 installed, with 1 yr warranty. Make sure you can return your electronic part back to NAPA if it fails. Most electrical parts are non-returnable. Also, if it does fail for some reason, you'll have to pay the dealer again for programming. Just something to think about!! I'm all for doing it myself, but when it comes to replacing a part as prone to failure as this one, I would prefer to let a dealer do the whole thing, and have them eat it if it fails!!! This unit is basically a laptop computer stuck in the heat, dirt, and moisture of an engine bay!
