While I agree that synthetic oils are generally better than dino oils, its more important that the oil and filter get changed regularly more than anything else. Of course, the better the oil, the longer it will last, or the more severe duty it can tolerate, but if a person uses good quality oil and filter (mobil 1), then the moving parts seem to last nearly forever.
