Default HELP! Front Brakes grinding/scrapping sound While Braking

2002 Ram 1500, 4.7, 2-WD

when braking at low speeds my front brakes sound and feel like they are scrapping..feels like ABS kicking in, roads are dry.

I just replaced my pads with ceramic pads, and new rotors.

Any suggestions??

Your help is apprecaited.

Roger

Does it only happen at speeds of say 10mph or less?

Your pads are always even so slightly touching your rotors. This is normal as there is nothing in place to push back the calipers

Also check the backing plates too, they could be rubbing just enough to cause a grinding sound.

You didn't install a pad backwards, did you?

Not true! The seal on the caliper piston is a rolling rubber seal. When you release the pedal the rolled seal helps to pull the piston back away from the rotor.
