It's a good idea and thing to do. There are hundreds of patterns and thousands of color combinations

The thing is and what a lot of people won't tell you is there are cheap prints and patterns with cheap inks and then there are good quality films. I would NEVER use a rattle can of clear. You really want a good quality 2k clear that as a quality UV protectant in it.

 

The sliver brushed looking one is mine, weedahoe did a great job on it. it is matched to my steering wheel that has the same type of design on it. I haven't had any problems with my dash when cleaning it. but it does make the cab look a lot better and its great having a double din for the radio. I think it is well worth it.

 

And I havent forgotten about that right side piece BTW.

All of those pics you see above are pieces I have done for people. I have done literally thousands of pieces so let me tell you while it looks easy, it is ONCE you learn how to do it correctly. I never ever use rattle cans. I have SataJet HVLP guns for my base/activator/clearcoat
