'03 2500 V-10 - look for '02 engine parts?
I've recently picked up what appears to be a somewhat odd beast: A 2003 2500 8.0L V-10 with 5-speed manual. Just doing some scanning for engine parts and such (not that I need 'em yet, I do that for entertainment) I'm finding that many parts sites don't list much for the V-10 when I search on the 2003 model. But the parts are all there when I search under 2002.
Are the engines pretty much the same? Was the 2003 V-10 essentially a 2002 engine until they got the Hemi online?
Thanks for any insight. Nice place you got here.

In all likelihood the parts are the same. This is common practice (i.e., partial updating of and/or incomplete parts listings). Happens all the time, especially for end of production and very small numbers--which this may represent.
All the best.

That's interesting. I'm pretty sure the engine didn't change any. So go fast parts are a go. The only thing I'd be careful of is mounting points on certain CAI and other units that are bolted to the body somewhere.
Wasn't thinking bolt-on performance so much as normal things like, say, waterpumps. Sites like Rockauto.com will show gaskets and o-rings for the '03, but gotta look at '02 to list the actual waterpump. Several sites do that. Guess when it comes down to it, I'll need to work with the Mopar counter, and then do some cross-referencing if I don't like dealer prices.
