Default Those w/ Hemi and the Mopar CAI, Strange Sound?

I put the Mopar CAI in my '05 Hemi last month and the past couple of weeks I noticed what I think is a strange sound. It's hard to really capture when it's happening but it seems to be around 2500 RPM when I'm at that point when the engine goes from stock quiet to that aggressive growl when you stuff it. It sounds like a vibrating metal sound is the best way I can describe it. When it does happen, I can make it go away/come back by just slightly changing the position of the gas pedal. It never happens when revving in park or neutral, normal driving it's not there, when you can really here the air sucking and the growl it's not there, it's a this one point. Anyone else notice this? Is it just a certain angle that the plate is open in the throttle body with the air rushing into it it's vibrating a bit and just a slight angle change with the throttle is making it go away? Or, do I have a problem?

I don't know if the '05s are the same way but on the '04s you will hear a strange tick from the egr valve ticking/echoing through the cai. It might not be the "egr valve" but something with the exhaust recirc mechanism.

Not sure if that's it since it happens at a specific time, I would think that problem would be constant. Anyone else experiencing what I am?

What you are describing sounds like a harmonic vibration at a specific frequency. I'm wondering if you went back and checked the mounting hardware on the heatshield and the rubber hood seal gasket? I think I remember you saying that you did the install yourself, so maybe you could retrace your steps to make sure something didn't work it's way loose. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

It's not constant. My friend's '04 would only tick under certain throttle positions after putting on his airram intake. You can unhook the recirc valve thing and test drive it. It'll cause a CEL but you can clear it with Superchips.

I'll have to check all of my connections to make sure nothing loosened up on me.

My father and I just installed the Air Force One CAI on his 2005 HEMI , and we are hearing the same EXHAUST TICK sounding noise at low rpm under load??? I have the MAC system on order for my Daytona HEMI, and am wondering if it will also have this exhaust sounding tick??

Anyone else experience this??????
Can we get rid of it, or does the stock intake have to go back on???

THANX

I don't think I've seen an '04+ that didn't get it after a CAI. Maybe everybody just can't here theirs. Folks have pulled the connection off that EGR gas recirc valve thing and it goes away but of course you need that to operate correcly. You could just put on some headers and flowmaster exhaust so you don't have to hear it.
