Default Silverstar Ultra headlight bulbs

Im thinking of upgrading the headlight bulbs in my 2008 dodge ram to silverstar ultra bulbs, because the stock headlights just arn`t that bright in my opinion.

Is anyone using these bulbs in there trucks and if so do you like them ?.

Anyone know the part number for the ones that would fit my truck ?.

Thanks.

I have never heard of the GE night hawks before, I will do some searching on them as well.

They might be a little better brightness wise, but in my experience they burn out much faster.

I run Silverstar ZXE's and I love them. Never have to turn my brights on even when driving down really dark roads.

Izero, that article is pretty accurate but does lack some reasoning(not that it really matters because the content is true.)

Ultra's are very blue. I don't like them. They draw attention to cops. Also, the more blue your light is, the less output you actually see. Blue=unusable light to human eye. Anytime there is blue involved, there is a loss. Purple...even more of a loss.

I use the standard Silverstars in my Buick...ONLY because I wanted a whiter light, and not for a brighter output. They do have a coating on them that reduces light output as far as Lumens go, but that coating is what provides a whiter more pleasant driving light. The whiter light makes things appear slightly crisper for the human eye.

Sylvania's claim to being brighter is comparing them to a worn standard bulb.
*Compared to worn standard halogen
They are misleading.

If you buy them cheap on Ebay, fine, but I wouldn't pay $30-40 for them at the parts store.
FACT: bulb coatings will reduce lifespan because they run hotter and are not able to dissipate as efficiently!

Silverstars are rated @ 200hrs
Standard non-coated bulbs 800+hrs
Sylvania LL bulbs 1500hrs
