3.7L weak
Thanks yall. Chuckhammer, makes sense, all the v6's ive owned in the past (1960's to 80's) had automatics and were two doors. So what is redline on this new truck. I guess being out of the automotive mech field for over 20 years has made me rusty on these newer trucks and how muck the computer plays a role. Ive done alot of reading on IAT resistor mods, your thoughts
Purchase a Tuner and use an off-the-shelf program to give yourself some more power...
That is surprising I must say... I've towed 2,000# with a V6, up and down pretty some hills.....maybe 10%-25% grade, going up was not fun at all, I was getting passed by oversized semi's like I was standing still... going down wasn't too bad b/c of trailer brakes and a manual transmission, but still wasn't fun....
at the end of the 120 mile trip.. was my in-laws back road .. up the side of a mountain (North Georgia).. 1 1/2 feet wider than camper. and over 30 percent grade...gravel and 3/4 mile long. and it was a good thing my truck has limited slip rear end..... needed it for traction.
and again truck went up 1/2 throttle in 1st gear at 10 to 15 miles per hour... and never went over 190 degrees.
we had his friend standing by with a 2500 4x4 just in case.. NOT NEEDED...
but like you said.. not the most fun.. but capable .
trailer is a Gulfstream Ameri-lite 21mb... 21 foot plus tongue. and all normal camper stuff.. full kitchen and bath... 3,500 pounds.
