I have a 2005 Ram 1500. When I close the drivers door the dome light stays on. Sometimes it flickers a couple times, but it still stays on. I am guessing it's in the door latch assembly, but if anybody has any info on this type of issue I would appreciate it.

 

If its anything like my 01 dakota. its the headlight/dimmer switch. I have to dim the dash lights a bit, and the dome light will go off.

You know how there 3 clicks and than the dimmer. top click is cargo light, next is dome, than dome set to door trigger, put the setting on the dimmer only. and see if that helps. of course you will have to click the switch up at night when opening the door. or replace the switch..
