Question Valve adjustment .. 2003 H/O TD 5.9

Purchased new, I have 198,723 miles on my Dodge Ram Diesel. It runs great (except currently in shop for a possible lift pump conversion kit).

The service manager at the Dodge Dealership where I have the truck in the shop said as long as I have the truck in the shop, I should have the valves adjusted ~~ ($175 plus gasket).

Should I have the valves adjusted if my truck is running great and still getting 18-20 mpg? I ask because I some articles read the valves never need adjusting and some say 150,000.

THANKS!

Maybe its a diesel thing but neither the 4.7 or 5.7 have adjustable valves

The 5.9's do have an adjustable lash, and it is recommended at 150K normal driving

Yep----get her done
