If any of you all have an I-Pod or any other MP3 player and are connecting it to your Ram, please let me know what you are using to do it. I have an 04 Ram QC with Infinity system Tape and CD. I am currently using the tape adapter and would like something a little less obtrusive.

I use to use an FM transmitter. It did not work well at all.. I had interference all the time from other radio stations and sounded horrable.

I had an in-line FM modulator installed with an adapter that can plug into any player. I even use it for DVD movies. It is an FM modulator that goes in-line with the radio antenna. On the outside I have a cable and a switch I have them both hidden in the dash compartment. To make it work, I plug the cable into the headphone jack of the player, flip a switch and put the radio on a certain station to work (88.1). I play it through my sound system and sounds GREAT! Any mobile install center should be able to do it for you. I got it done at Tweeters for $138.98. FM modulator, adapter cord, switch, and installation. The switch is a power switch to turn on the FM modulator

 

I just bought an FM transmitter but haven't gotten a chance to try it out yet....sounds like I might be better off taking it back.

 

I am using THIS. It works great and it's easy to hook up. Comes with all that you need.

 

I know this won't be a whole lotta help, but I saw (in a long night of searching) a device that hooks directly to the receiver and transmits through the radio as if it were a CD changer. It was (obviously) a DCX-specific device, and wasn't too expensive, if I remember correctly.

If you can use RCA connections with you MP3 this should work. It's what I use to connect my Sirius. Plugs into the CD changer port in the back of your head unit.

I have this aux input from Crutchfield and it had 2 inputs. It works great!

 

Hey! I hooked up a Pioneer iPod adapter to my dads Pioneer cd deck. All you have to do is plug it in the bottom of your ipod and leave it. You can control everything from the deck. Its awesome. Works better than anything. I think Alpine makes one too.

 

I'm using an iPod wireless FM modulator - iTrip by Griffin and it has good audio quality, but does experience interference at times. I have been thinking about getting a hard-wired connection and like the option available from Crutchfield and may go that route.
