In eight years of owning my 06 Hemi, I may have checked the oil 30 times. The engine never used any oil in 114,000 miles...not a drop. Best V-8 engine I've ever owned bar none, and it wasn't babied at all. Towed, raced, and worked the entire time I owned it. So when I sold it and replaced it with another

its luck. my 08 5.7 hemi burns a quart every 1600 miles and the truck is babied. it has less then 40k. took it in for an oil consump test Waste of time. dodge rep says a quart every 700 to 1000 mi is acceptable. i am just going to live with it cause dodge is not going to do anything about it so why stress. i also change oil every 2500-3000 miles synthetic

Mine is the same way. It uses it at about the same rate yours does. I don't baby mine. I thought that's just the way mopar is. Both my wife's jeep 4.7 and my hemi started using oil after 60,000.

You're right, as long as it's running good it's not worth worrying about. I just check it every 2 weeks.

Here's some more LUCK for you...In 8 years two sets of plugs, never changed a serpentine belt or water pump, Changed one front wheel bearing hub at 108,000 miles. The first plugs were original and went 50,000 miles and then I changed them to the Lord forbid, platinum plugs that everyone says wont run in a hemi and ran them 64.000 more miles and they were still in when I sold it 2 weeks ago. Funny, now I have a 2014, and instead of them saying plugs every 30,000 miles they now say change at 100,000 miles
That's what they should have been saying all along, because plugs will last that long in a 3rd Gen
