Help !!! I had my truck in the shop for a transfer case motor replacement. 2 motors later my 4wd wont engage when I go thru water or puddles. Any help would be good. thanks

 

It seems we have a clone truck. you pm'd me a couple times and it seems i have the same problem before or soon after. please keep me posted and i will do the same. my truck is in the line up for service tomoorow after just having the motor replaced last week. be carefull, the last time i hit a hole of water after i parked the tranfere case went into nuetral or tow mode. there was a corroided wire near the transfere case motor and a corroided wire over the passanger side top pan right were the harness goes down the fire wall. Just before it splits to go to the ecm and injectors. I beleave it was a yellow wire. lucky cause the truck almost ran me over. so far i had thenwiring repaired and the tipm and motor replaced. then back 4 months later for a motor and now a week later going back again.

 

Well I took my truck back in, because of it not engaging. Lights indicating service 4wd. It just so happens that the light wasn't on when they received it and they couldn't find a problem. They said they ran it thru a deep puddle to try and get it to come on but failed. So I have to wait until it happens again...

 

what codes did they pull?

 

they couldn't get the indicator lites to act up. they ran it thru water kinda like I did but everything worked for them. truck engaged into 4wd when dial was turned like it is suppose to. I was told that they couldn't find anything wrong.
