Default Vibration on braking at 50 mph plus

Hi all

2004 Ram 1500 SLT 2WD

When braking at say 50 mph + get a real bad vibration/shudder on front. Almost to the extent the steering is hard to control.

Replaced upper and lower ball joints which were shot on both sides. Problem is still there.

Any ideas please?

Many Thanks

If it just happens under braking it is probably warped brake rotors.

Yes just under breaking. Normal drivng is fine smooth as silk. If it is warped rotors could that cause that much vibration etc?

Thanks

I recommend power slot rotors, and hawk performance ferro carbon brake pads. When you do the breaking system change all the rotors and brake bads. It only cost me around $400 to do it myself. It may be pricey for some, but the rotors are really beefy and worth the money imo.

I hope that works for you. I've had the same issue for some time now. All four rotors have been replaced and I still get the shudders. It's somewhat inconsistent. Never happens at low speeds. There is also no discernible pulsating in the brake pedal either.

Going to have to dig deeper.
