Magna Flow question
Thanks everyone. I appreciate your input. Some of the recommendations unfortunately wont work with my truck. Heck, I cant even find a specific system from Dynomax for my ol girl. I have an ol 03 hemi qcsb with lower body side moldings and the exhaust cut out at the right rear. I dont want this cutout to be empty, so I need to stick with a single system with the exit at right rear. I also think stainless is really the only way to go.
The Magnaflow system 15787 has a 5 X 8 X 24 long muffler. Im wondering with its length if it might not be too much louder than stock?

I have Magnaflow catback with a dual exit in front of the rear pass tire. It's an 18" oval body muffler, it has a mild tone to it and is very quiet inside the cab. I tow a bunch and have zero drone. When I hammer the gas, I can hear a mixture of engine and exhaust. The exhaust does Not over power the engine scream so the 18" is probably borderline for you.
You do not want a chambered muffler such as flowmaster they drone the most. There are many 'chambered' muffler out there.
Be careful about getting a "turbo" muffler. small round body even being long and being quiet tend to drone a lot. Also, some Turbo mufflers are chambered. (Dynomax and Cherrybomb)
You do Not want dual rear exit, they bounce off of trailers and drone. They also get sucked into your bed area(draft) and are noisy against your back window, especially if you have it open.
Get a standard body oval Magnaflow muffler if you want performance an not much louder than stock! 5x9x(20" and longer)
I think my 18" would be slightly louder than what your looking for but I have always had compliments from old men..lol

The superturbo will not drone with tips out the back whether towing or not, and they aren't chambered
It all depends on the type of trailer behind towed as well. enclosed..yup. Open landscape, maybe not.
Dirty...you're getting bad information. My 06 with sido superturbo exiting out the back never droned, and my 2014 Hemi express with factory duals for sure doesn't drone, either towing or not. The louder you get the more drone...naturally,you are going to get, and neither my 06 with superturbo or my new one with factory duals are loud enough to drone, to any noticeable level. Maybe towing an enclosed trailer would be worse for drone, but a utility trailer or boat trailer, it's not going to happen
I'm running dynatech long tube headers into true dual 2 1/2 withe flowmaster super 44's and dual rear exit. From everything I've heard here I should have a hellish drone but it's not. Cruising on the highway and even climbing a grade it's very non intrusive. You can easily have a conversation without yelling. Most of the in cab noise I have is from the CAI and that's not even bad. This dual setup is actually not significantly louder than the single 50 series I was running before

ANY aftermarket muffler causes that irregular MDS pulsation noise.
