So i have a 2005 ram 1500 stock height quad cab with stock 20" rims. I need new rims and tires and want to go with the rockstar rims or something like it. I use my truck as a daily driver and never go off road or on the highway much, its more just driving around town. I dont plan on lifting or using a level kit and i dont tow with it. My current cooper zeon ltz tires are pissing me off because i can feel every little rock and bump i drive over and i want a tire that is smooth feeling going down the road but i want one that has an aggresive looking sidewall. Im thinking of going with an 18" rim so that i can get a tire that looks bigger (sidewall) but not sure what would look better. I like the monster truck look smaller rims and bigger tires. Does anyone know whats a good tire to use that looks awesome but drives nice and smooth? Anyone have pics they can post of their rims/tires? Thanks.

Bridgestone Revo 2s here. 285/70x17 on 17x9 wheels. They ride great and have excellent wet/dry traction. 2 1/2" level.

Check out the Trail Grappler if you want aggressive looking tires. They are not AT tires but relatively smooth and quiet on the highway.

IF you want more sidewall and a cheaper tire, go with a 17" wheel. People have had issues with the DuraTrac sidewalls before (Hammer has seen it on more than one occasion, I believe) because our trucks are so heavy, but if you are keeping it a street queen, then you probably won't have an issue. It's the best "do everything" tire I've ever used on any vehicle. I've outright abused them on my Ram at offroad parks, and they are unstoppable on the Jeep. Rides great on the highway, too. A bit pricey, but not as bad as the DC FC/II's.

For peace of mind, you may want to go with the Terra or Trail Graps. People get really good mileage out of them, and they won't let you down if you need to take the occasional excursion off the pavement.
