I thought those things went out of style about 40 years ago. Big rig truckers are all I ever see with them nowadays...or possibly a wrecker
I've Velcro'd them to the dash. Run the wires down by the windshield and across to the doors then drop down and under and out.
Big CB with amp and tuner on top.
100W and over 300 channels with upper and lower sides.
102" stainless whip with 18' of coax.
I could get out and touch people. Lol.

Iv got a 2005 I mounted my cobra 29 in my center console when you open console and since there is a power point in console power issue solved and ran antenna cable around through console on right side just rear and below right console hinge after it was all done there is only about 1 in of cable visible from back seat radio is mount in console with the cb mount at back of radio and has a single spring under front so when console is opened radio comes up just enough get access to the ***** and whens it not used mic and radio are completely hidden inside console other than the antenna you wouldn't know there is a CB in my truck unless console is open
Really!!! I was a CB nut when I was a yonker, but since the advent of the cell phone I've never given one a thought...

Running through the firewall isn't the issue for alternator noise. Its from an unclean power source. You can buy filters for that if needed. Sometimes you have to drill a hole for the coax. I've just ran it through the door jam before and its lasted fine if done right.
On a side note, the proper set up gets quite large but for best performance you require 18' of coaxial and a single 102" stainless antenna.
Not always a welcome thing.
Look for the best wound fiberglass antenna. Firesticks have always been good. Lots of wire coil. Stay away from antenna with a single wire ip the center or antenna with a weather station load in them. The short wrap about halfway up. They limit the radio.
I suggest you Google CB radio forums and discuss what's new out there and what's best for you application.
