Default 2002 Ram 1500 4WDQC - squeal

Hi All

My RAM started making a squealing noise. Not sure whether it's front of back. It happens under acceleration, or more likely during a turn and quits a bit after I straighten out. It stops once I'm straight and steady. Unless I mash the gas. I can make it stop any time by either letting off the gas a bit or by lightly touching the brakes. Could this be brakes? The pads seems like there's a little less than half left (bylooking between the spokes of the rims.) I haven't got around to washing down the brakes to get rid of the dust. Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered.

Check your power steering fluid. Symptoms are similar to what I was experiencing, altho tapping on the brakes or letting off the throttle did not make mine stop. If your fluid is low, check your rack and pinion boots to see if there is any fluid trapped there. If so, you probably need to replace the rack and pinion assembly.

Check your brakes, including your E-brake in the back. Built up brake dust can also make them squeek, so spray them down with some wheel cleaner and blast them with a steady stream of H2O.
